Mildred Tharpe Celebrates 100th Birthday with Aperion Care Forest Park
Aperion Care Forest Park congratulates Mildred Tharpe who just turned 100! What an honor to celebrate a person who has lived for a century.
One of the sweetest parts of working with seniors is celebrating milestone birthdays. Our staff at Aperion Care Forest Park just had that opportunity and honor as we helped Mildred Tharpe celebrate her 100th birthday on September 23, 2014. Mildred has been a resident of Aperion Care Forest Park in our care for five years bringing joy to those around her. She loves to dance and is a regular attendee at devotional services with Elder Thomas on Thursday mornings. Our staff and her fellow residents held a special celebration during her birthday week at the Center and, then, Mildred’s family celebrated with her that Saturday.
Mildred was a cook for Chicago Public Schools for many years and was married to her sweetheart Kirmit for more than 60. Together, she and Kirmit raised two sons and were active members in their church. She is a part of a beautiful family filled with love and kind hearts. Happy 100th Mildred!
