Weed, Cash Seized in Late-Night Traffic Stop
A late-night ride to McDonald's in Forest Park ended in weed and alcohol arrests for two Oak Park residents.

A run to McDonald's ended in weed and alcohol arrests in the early hours of Sunday, April 21.
Police stopped a car at 12:30 a.m. near Madison and Circle in Forest Park for a traffic violation, and when they investigated they saw a woman in the passenger's seat with a bottle of Hennessy behind her legs.
Kasha Malone, 20, of Oak Park, said the driver, Bryant L. Malone 22, also of Oak Park, picked her up and that they were on their way to McDonald's. She said it was his alcohol.

She was charged with a local ordinance violation for possession of alcohol by a minor.
Police said they could smell marijuana inside the car, and when they patted down Bryant Malone police found two bundles of cash, which Malone said totaled $1,400 and was his income tax money.

After searching the car, police found 220 small plastic baggies and a digital scale, both commonly used for narcotics sales, and about 4.2 grams of weed. They also found several stacks of cash bundled in varying amounts, and that totaled $957.
Malone said that's how he gets paid at his job with a promotion company. He was charged marijuana possession and possession of drug equipment, and the money was seized.
He was given a court date and was released after posting bond.
