Officer Hit with Can after Taking Hammer from Would-Be Thief: Police Blotter
Forest Park police reports, Sept. 19 - Sept. 23

SUNDAY, SEPT. 23
Posession of Marijuana
Irvin P. George, 29, of Maywood was given a village citation for possession of marijuana after he was pulled over in the area of Circle Avenue and Madison Street for driving without his headlights, police said. Police found a half-burnt blunt, containing about 1 gram of cannabis, on the driver's side floor of his car.
Driving under the Influence of Alcohol
Edgar Reynoso-Dominguez, 14, of Cicero was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and other offenses after he was pulled over in the 2800 block of South Harlem in North Riverside for speeding. Police said Reynoso-Dominguez's age could not be verified because he was driving without a license and they could not verify that or if he had an arrest record because the statewide LEADS system was undergoing a software upgrade. He also was charged with driving without a license and without insurance driving without a seatbelt, improper lane usage and speeding.

Battery
Ashley A. Rivera-Jefferson, 41, of Forest Park was given a village citation for battery when she threw a can of dietary supplement at an officer, striking him in the left leg, police said. An officer spotted her standing in front of the 7-Eleven, 7749 Roosevelt Rd, attempting to pry pieces from a pay phone. The officer was hit after he took the claw hammer she was using on the phone.

Residential Burglary
About $15 in quarters was taken from an apartment in the 500 block of Des Plaines Avenue. Entry was gained by opening a window and then a screen.
FRIDAY, SEPT. 21
Soliciting in the Roadway
Randy J. Watson, 50, of Westchester was given a village citation for soliciting in the roadway, police said. Police found Watson was asking for money by walking up and down the entrance/exit ramps of I-290 at South Harlem Avenue.
Theft
Paul E. Wade, 67, of Maywood was given a village citation for theft after he was caught trying to leave Ultra Foods, 7520 Roosevelt Rd., with a bottle of vitamins and a package of batteries, police said.
Soliciting without a Permit
Khalid S. Williams, 26, of Chicago was given a village citation for soliciting without a permit for trying to sell newspapers and Bibles, police said. Police picked him up after getting complaints from residents in the 200 block of Elgin Avenue.
Disorderly Conduct
Shawn Gree, 44, of Forest Park was given a village citation for disorderly conduct after arguing with a patron at Pioneer Tap, 7445 Randolph St., who had asked him to leave, police said. The bartender told police that Green had been removed from the bar for swearing at her in the past.
WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 19
Reckless Driving
Cruz Alberto Castrejon, 23, of Chicago was charged with reckless driving and other offenses after his motorcycle was pulled over for speeding in the 700 block of South Harlem Avenue, police said. He also was charged with speeding, driving without a license and without insurance.
