Open House Feb. 27 Will Inform Community About Comp Plan
Residents also can sign up to help guide process that will set Forest Park's goals and aspirations for community planning.

Forest Park residents can find out what to expect when the community develops its new comprehensive plan during a forum from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 27 at the Howard Mohr Community Center, 7640 Jackson Blvd.
The event will allow folks to learn about the process, what it will entail and consist of and find out the many kinds of issues and concerns that Forest Park will be addressing.
Residents can also sign up to serve on the steering committee. The panel, which will be made up of people from various aspects of the community – from the chamber to the zoning board, commissioners and the public - will help guide the process.

Images Inc. is crafting the plan, a document that determines a town's goals and aspirations in terms of community planning. The effort could look at economic development and redevelopment and housing. It also could focus on what to do with the village-owned building at Altenheim. What to do with land where a blighted house once stood also could be examined.
The 12-18 month process of gathering information and writing the plan will include neighborhood meetings and surveys. Getting public input on what direction they’d like Forest Park to go in could start in early spring, Village Administrator Tim Gillian said.
