Painting Your Deck? Paulson's Owner Has Need-to-Know Tips

The prime time for a deck-painting project is about to end as we head into the hot, sticky month of August, Paulson's Paint owner Rick Stephanie said Thursday.

Stephanie, owner of the store at 7400 Madison St. in Forest Park, also shared a few quick tips for homeowners who might not know much about what they're doing. 

"Wash it, sand it, apply it," he said. "Prep work, prep work, prep work... It makes it so much easier for the future."

Stephanie also advised that homeowners should avoid applying products later in the day, when the predicted low temperature is within five degrees of the dew point so the product isn't affected by extreme heat or moisture.
