Parolee Busted Cooking Heroin, Shoplifting

Oak Park police reports, March 15.

Heroin Cooker Shoplifts

Parnell Sullivan, 38, of Maywood, was charged with retail theft and possession of drug equipment after police were called to Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave. 

Police said Parnell is on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections and is a known burglar and shoplifter. He was seen leaving Walmart, and when police stopped him they found three packs of socks, a used hypodermic neede and a metal poker used to mix and cook heroin. He was given a March 21 court date.

Catalytic Converter Stolen

An oxygen sensor and catalytic converter were stolen from a car parked in the 1000 block of Des Plaines Avenue between 4 p.m. March 7 and 9 a.m. March 8. The estimated loss was $478. 

Retail Theft 

Scott L. Ide 19, of Wheaton, and Keitha C. Dones, 25, of Chicago, were charged with retail theft after police were called to Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave. Store security said Jones stole a package of turkey deli meat and Ide stole two DVDs, a bottle of Vaseline, makeup brushes and a Capri Sun drink.
