Police Report Animal Cruelty, Open Alcohol Arrests

THURSDAY, AUGUST 29
Animal Cruelty
Police issued a local ordinance citation of cruelty to animals to Ebbenni Triplet, 34, of Oak Park for leaving her dog in her car in 85-degree weather. Police said the small white dog in the car was panting heavily and excessively salivating in the car. Triplet told police she had only gone into Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave. for a minute.
Trespassing, Open Alcohol
Police charged Carlos Trevino, 52, of Maywood, with trespassing and having open alcohol about 8:10 a.m. Police said Trevino was sleeping in a parking lot in the 200 block of Marengo Avenue. He was processed, given an Oct. 22 court date and held on bond.

Marijuana Possession
Police charged Andrew Torres, 21, of Woburn, MA, with marijuana possession during a traffic stop about 11:15 a.m. near the intersection of 13th and Harlem. He was given an Oct. 2 court date and released.

Man Admits to Graffiti on Newspaper Box
Police charged Matthew Anderson, 38, of Melrose Park, with property defacement after he admitted to putting the graffiti on a Sun-Times newspaper box near the intersection of Hannah and Madison about 11 a.m. He was given an Oct. 2 court date, police said.
TUESDAY, AUGUST 27
Controlled Substance Possession
Police charged Cory Hames, 25, of Berwyn, with possession of a controlled substance and open alcohol in the 7500 block of Madison Street.
Open Alcohol, Cocaine Possession
Police stopped Hames, who was in an argument with three other people, for walking in a public way with a cup of beer about 11:50 p.m. Police said Hames had about 1.5 grams of cocaine on him. He was processed, given a Sept. 19 court date and held on bond.
Leaving Scene of Accident
Police charged Sherri Tracy, 44, of Oak Park, with leaving the scene of an accident, driving without a license and failure to reduce speed after an accident around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Adams and Thomas. She was given an Oct. 15 court date and released on bond.
Warrant: Marijuana Possession
Anthony Sanchez of Forest Park was arrested on a warrant out of Forest Park for marijuana possession in the 0-100 block of Harlem Avenue about 11:40 a.m. He was processed and held on bond.
MONDAY, AUGUST 26
Marijuana Arrest
Police charged Deshawn Austin, 27, of Chicago, with marijuana possession after police found 30 small bags of the drug in his car during a stop in the 7700 block of Madison Street about 9 a.m. He was given an Oct. 2 court date and held on bond.
