Attempted Burglary
A cab driver saw a car in the 900 block of Elgin with its window smashed and the driver's side door wide open. The owner was contacted and nothing was reported missing.
Garage Burglary
A weed trimmer valued at $50 was stolen from a garage in the 1500 block of Marengo. This was the second burglary in as many months at this home, so police said they will place an extra watch on the address.

Spiderman, Socks Among Thieves' Haul
Carmen Aviles, 19, of Chicago, and Alexander Montesdedoca, 29, of Berwyn, were charged with retail theft after police were called to Walmart. Store security said the two were seen putting various items in the jackets and trying to leave the store without paying.
The items included two packages of socks; children's shirts, shoes and clothing; and a Spiderman toy. Police said Montesdedoca also had six DVDs, a tracing pad and a jar of paint in his possession.

Aviles was issued a local ordinance citation and was released. Montesdedoca posted bond and was given an April 23 court date.
SATURDAY, MARCH 9
Car Damaged
Someone smashed the rear window of a car parked in the 400 block of Hannah Avenue in Forest Park. Nothing was reported missing.
Woman Wouldn't Leave Bar
Sarah B. Moid, 25, of South Barrington, was charged with criminal trespass. Police were flagged down in front of Slainte Irish Pub, 7505 Madison St., at 9:19 p.m. in reference to a woman who refused to leave after being asked several times. Police said she also swung her arms at an officer when he was trying to cuff her. Moid was also charged with resisting arrest.
