Property Tax Exemption Changes to Be Explained in Seminar
Information provided during Forest Park program can help seniors get back overpaid taxes.

Changes in property tax laws can be confusing to anyone.
A seminar's been set up to help Forest Park seniors understand property tax exemptions available to them at 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11 at the Howard Mohr Community Center, 7640 Jackson St.
Cook County officials will explain the difference between the senior exemption and the senior freeze and who will qualify for the latter. Due date for applications will also be presented.

Seniors also can find out if they have overpaid their taxes and how they can recoup money owed to them.
Transportation will be provided by appointment. A light lunch will be served at noon.
