Man Charged With Battery in CTA Fight: Police Blotter

Forest Park police reports, Oct. 22 - 28.

SATURDAY, OCT. 27

Retail Theft

Dale B. Anderson, 55, of Streamwood, was charged with one count of felony enhanced retail theft after he was picked up at Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave., with a television and a pair of jeans he tried to take out of the store, police said. 

Battery

Demetrius V. Jackson, 22, of Chicago, was charged with battery, aggravated assault and criminal trespass after an incident in the CTA Blue Line station at 711 Des Plaines Ave., police said. A CTA employee told police Jackson started a fist fight with a train passenger after an argument with him and also attempted to hit a female passenger. A CTA employee also told police Jackson attempted to take a swing at the employee's head.

THURSDAY, OCT. 25

Possession of Cannabis

A 24-year-old woman from Little Canada, MN, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after a call of a disturbance in the 7700 block of Harvard St., police said.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 24

Resisting Arrest

Donald L. Hoffenkamp, 54, of New Lenox, was charged with two counts of resisting arrest and one count of criminal trespass to land after refusing to leave Blueberry Hill Tavern, 427 Des Plaines Ave., police said. Police said Hoffenkamp was placed into custody after a brief struggle with police.

TUESDAY, OCT. 23

Residential Burglary

Two television sets and $200 were stolen during the residential burglary of a home in the 600 block of Marengo Avenue. Entry was gained by breaking the kitchen window; suspect closed the front door after exiting and locked the bottom knob lock. Estimated loss was more than $700.

Misdemeanor Retail Theft

Eric Little, 42, of Chicago, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft after taking six packages of Nyquil and 43 candy bars at Walgreens, 7200 Roosevelt Rd., police said.

Warrant Arrest

Elijah Warfield, 49, of Chicago was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Cook County for violating his conditional release for driving on a suspended license, police said. He was apprehended in the 400 block of Harlem Avenue.

Retail Theft

Sean Sokal, 26, of Berwyn, was cited under a local ordinance with retail theft for taking four packs of trading cards, valued at $15.92, from Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave., police said.

MONDAY, OCT. 22

Suspended, Revoked License

Eboni A. Garner, 21, of Olympia Fields was charged with driving on a suspended license after a traffic stop at Harlem Avenue and the I-290 Expy., police said. A police pulled over her car for having one headlight. After providing a current insurance card, the officer ran a check and found her license was suspended, police said.

No Taxi License

Emil A. Ivanov, 58, of Elmwood Park was cited under a local ordinance for operating a taxi without a Forest Park taxi driver's license, police said.
