Teen Arrested for Heroin, DUI, Battery: Police Blotter

SATURDAY, JULY 6

Teen Charged With Heroin Possession

Police charged Alexander Coix, 19, of Warrenville with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug equipment and endangering the life of a child.

An officer saw Coix tying a black shoelace around his left forearm and holding a loaded needle with his teeth in a car at Thornton’s Gas Station around 8:15 p.m.

Police stopped the car and found five clear purple ziplock bags containing an off-white powdery substance, used and unused needles and one bag of residue in the car, and one bag of residue in Coix’s sock, police said.

Coix told police the driver of the car, an 18-year-old Wheaton resident, had called him and said he’d give Coix a bag of heroin if he went to Chicago with him to buy heroin, police said. Coix said he ordered six bags of heroin for $45, and went with his friend to buy it. The third person in the car was a female juvenile, who was asleep in the backseat when police stopped the car.

Coix was processed and given an Aug. 1 court date.

FRIDAY, JULY 5

DUI

Police charged Patrick Irvin, 30, of Chicago with driving under the influence of alcohol around 2:30 a.m. at Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave. A Walmart employee told police Irvin tried to go into the store around midnight, then went back to his car and fell asleep after the manager told him it was closed. The manager later saw him driving “erratically,” causing an accident in the parking lot and called 911.

Police said Irvin had a blood alcohol content of .198. He was processed, given an Aug. 27 court date and released.

Warrant Arrest

Police responded to a report of a disturbance around 1:30 a.m. in the 8200 block of Roosevelt Road and charged Carolyn Rowlett, 42, of Forest Park, with a warrant out of Broadview. She was taken to the Broadview Police Department around 2:20 a.m., police said.

THURSDAY, JULY 4

“He Deserved” to Get Punched

Police cited Shane Watson, 30, of Maywood for battery after he reportedly hit a man on Madison Street around 2 a.m. Watson told police he punched the 25-year-old man in the face, “because he deserved it.” The victim was taken to Oak Park Hospital for injury treatment, police said.

Bikes Stolen

Someone stole a women’s bike, worth about $479, and a boy’s bike from a garage in the 7700 block of Monroe Street between about 12:15 and 12:30 p.m.

MONDAY, JULY 1

Marijuana

Cordell Roman, 25, of Lombard was arrested around 5:45 p.m. for marijuana possession and driving with expired registration. During a traffic stop in the 7700 block of Madison Street, Roman told police he had marijuana in his boxers. Police said he had about seven grams. He was processed, given an Aug. 13 court date and released.
