The Holiday Tournament has been the marquee competition for years; this is the 52nd year of the tournament. Fenwick will be one of the 32 teams vying for the title; new to the tournament is Crespi Carmelite from Encino.

Other high schools playing in the tourney include: Proviso East and Proviso West, New Trier, Stevenson, St. Joseph, Westinghouse College Prep, and Homewood-Flossmoor.

29 players in the tournament have gone on to play professional basketball including: Mark Aguierre, Isiah Thomas, Glenn Rivers, Juwan Howard, Kevin Garnett and Corey Maggette.

The legendary "Three Amigos" from Proviso East—Sherell Ford, Michael Finley and Donnie Boyce—figured prominently in the tournament in the late 1980s and early 1990s. All went on to play in the NBA.
