Township Office Accepting Property Tax Appeals
Documents will be held until Cook County opens the process to Proviso residents.

Forest Park residents upset with their property tax bills can bring their requests for appeals to the Proviso Township Assessor's Office.
Assessor's office employees will help residents fill out the paperwork that will be sent on to the Cook County Board of Review when the filing period for township appeals opens, township officials said.That date has not yet been set.
Homeowners should bring along their propery tax bill and any other paperwork that would prove their payments should be lowered, said Roxane Lesus, Proviso Township's deputy assessor.

Township officials also will help residents with their appeals during a session slated for 6:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Howard Mohr Community Center.
Once the appeals process begins, residents can file them online.

More than 1,200 homeowners from throughout the township have come into the office to get assistance with their appeals, Lesus said.
The township office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 4565 W. Harrison St. in Hillside. For more information, call the township office at 708-344-7430.
