Officials to Vote on Agreement for Madison Street Improvement Project
Village Board to vote on agreement with River Forest to split costs to improve Madison Street to pursue a $1.34 million grant from the Illinois Traffic Enhancement Program (ITEP).

Forest Park officials on Monday will vote on an agreement with the Village of River Forest to split costs for a Madison Street improvement project.
The villages will share a $1.34 million grant from the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) to make improvements between Harlem Avenue and Van Buren Street, including new lighting, planter boxes, crosswalks, sidewalk removal and replacement and pavement markings.
The villages will pay just under $250,000 apiece for the remaining costs of the $1.83 million project. The two villages will be responsible for the first two engineering phases of the project. The ITEP grant will kick in for construction and Phase 3 of engineering, according to the agreement.
Forest Park will take the lead on the project, and engage an engineering firm to manage the project and provide supervision during construction. River Forest will reimburse Forest Park for its share, according to the agreement.
The Village Board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12 at Village Hall, 7640 Jackson Blvd., Forest Park.
