FRIDAY, AUGUST 23

Man Had 113 Grams of Pot, 49 Mahle Capsules

Police charged Ricardo Reyes, 18, of Berwyn, with possession of a controlled substance, delivery or possession with intent to deliver, marijuana possession and manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance during a traffic stop about 1:15 p.m. in the 7200 block of Roosevelt Road.

Police said Reyes had about 113 grams of marijuana and 49 capsules of MDMA (Mahle) in his car. He was processed, given a Sept. 12 court date and held on bond.

Police charged Erica Williams, 20, of Chicago, with driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and speeding around 3:45 p.m. in the 7800 block of Madison Street. She was given an Oct. 22 court date and released on bond.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21

Retail Theft Arrest

Police charged Brandon James, 45, of Chicago, with retail theft about 1:15 p.m. at Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave. Police said James stole two packages of Zantac 150, two packages of Nicoderm CQ, two packages of chili mix, one can of diced tomatoes and a bottle of Coke, worth a total of about $117. He was processed, given a Sept. 24 court date and held on bond.

Car Part Cut

Someone cut the catalytic converter from a van parked in the 1100 block of Elgin Avenue around 4 p.m. The cost of damage is unknown.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 20

Woman Left Dog in Car in 88-degree Weather

Police charged Juanita Salinas, 38, of Cicero, with animal cruelty after she left her dog in a car in 88-degree weather while she was at Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Ave. around 5:15 p.m.

Police said Salinas had left the car window down about an inch, but that the dog was panting uncontrollably, appeared lethargic, and was lapping up water from someone’s hands.

The dog was taken to Animal Care League in Oak Park. Salinas was given a local ordinance citation for animal cruelty. Her court date is pending, police said.

Warrant: Marijuana Possession

Police charged Keenan Le’Noir, 37, of Broadview with a warrant out Chicago for marijuana possession. Police stopped Le’Noir, who left 7-Eleven, 711 Des Plaines Ave., around 11 a.m.on a bike. He was processed on the warrant and held for Chicago police. 

MONDAY, AUGUST 19

Warrant Arrest

Angela Buliox, 41, of Bellwood was arrested for a warrant out of Forest Park. She was arrested in Bellwood about 10 a.m., processed and held on bond.

Man on Kiddie Bike Flashes Gang Sign to Cop

Police charged Anthony Sanchez, 22, of Forest Park, with marijuana possession about 2 p.m.after he flashed officers a gang sign while riding a kid bike in the 1400 block of Elgin Avenue. 

Sanchez told police the bike was his and his homie’s, and when asked which gang he belonged to, he said, “Four Corner Hustler! Solid!”

Police said Sanchez had 71 small bags in his pocket—one of which contained less than a gram of marijuana. Sanchez was given a local ordinance citation for marijuana possession and released from the scene.

Theft Attempt 

Police charged James Harmon, 57, and David Johnson, 54, of Chicago, with attempted theft after someone saw them trying to take a boot from a van parked in the 400 block of Marengo Avenue around 5:40 p.m. Harmon was charged with criminal damage to government supported property and theft. Johnson was charged with theft. They were both processed, given an Aug. 22 court date and held on bond.
