Lincoln-Way Lancers Hockey Teams Helping the Community

The Lincoln-Way Lancers Hockey Club instills in its players that being a part of this club is so much more than the game of hockey. Throughout the season, the players and families gave back to the community through monthly games centered around humanitarian efforts. The "Lancers Answered" when the community called!

In October, the Lancers hosted "Lancers Fight Cancer" games with pink jerseys, raffle baskets, a bake sale, and t-shirt sales. Together, the Lancers Community raised $3,000 for The Cancer Support Centers of Homewood and Mokena. To learn more about The Cancer Support Center, visit: https://www.cancersupportcente...

In November, the Lancers hosted Food Drive games with a non-perishable food and supply collection, a soup bowl raffle (Varsity players designed soup bowls to raffle off) and a collection for birthday kits (baking pan, cake mix, Sprite, balloons, candles, and streamers). Together, the Lancers Community donated 48 birthday kits, $735 in monetary donations, and a wealth of items for the Frankfort Township Pantry. In December, the Lancers hosted Toy Drive games to collect toys and gift cards for the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation. Additionally in December, the Lancers helped spread cheer and deliver gifts to senior citizens in the New Lenox area with the New Lenox Township Transportation Department's SANTA BUS. The seniors loved visiting with our players and having some holiday cheer in their homes. To learn more about the Santa Bus, contact Debbie at 815-485-6431 .

The Lincoln-Way Lancers Hockey Club's hockey season will be coming to an end soon, but the lessons learned and experiences had, will last a lifetime. Thank you Lincoln-Way Community for partnering with us and helping us do our part to make the world a better place.

GO LANCERS!
