1 Candidate Files Petitions So Far For Frankfort Park District Board

At Frankfort Park District, there are two commissioner positions up for election in April.

FRANKFORT, IL — Candidates looking to run in the consolidated election next year have two more days to file petitions and certificates.

At Frankfort Park District, there are two commissioner positions up for election in April. Candidate petitions or certificates will be accepted through Dec. 19 at the park district, 140 Oak St.

Each park district commissioner term is for four years, and only park district residents are eligible.

Park District Executive Director Gina Hassett told Patch that only one petition had been filed thus far, as of Thursday afternoon.

Tom Barz is the only candidate who has filed. Barz currently serves as president of the park district's board of commissioners.

The consolidated election will be held April 4.
