157-C Education Foundation to host 20th annual fundraiser
Foundation has contributed over $2,000,000 to 157-C schools to enhance education

The Frankfort School District 157-C Education Foundation will host its 20th Annual Fundraising Auction on Friday, March 20th at Prestwick Country Club. All proceeds from this Platinum Event will directly benefit the students of Grand Prairie Elementary, Chelsea Intermediate and Hickory Creek Middle School through teacher-written grants to enhance education. Established in 1995, the Foundation has a tradition of funding positive growth for the students and has contributed over $2,000,000 to District 157-C schools in the past 20 years.
This year’s event is entitled “Investing in Our Youth.” It will be a casual evening and community members are invited to throw on a pair of jeans and come join the District for a fun night out. The DJ for the evening will be Hickory Creek Middle School teacher David Wonder and the Live Auction will be auctioneered by a very special surprise guest.
Attendees will have an opportunity to bid on live and silent auction items donated by local area businesses, school and community members. The evening consists of silent and live auction items including bidding on fire truck rides, “Principal for the Day” and the newest auction item “Mayor for a Morning” donated by Frankfort Mayor Jim Holland. Bulls tickets and Sox tickets are just a few other items that will be up for bid. Attendees will also enjoy hot and cold appetizers prepared by the Prestwick Chef and can visit a special photo area for a full evening of fundraising fun. The entrance fee is $55 per person in advance and $60 per person at the door. A cash bar will also be available.

The Foundation Board gives special thanks to all of the school and community members who have participated in this year’s fundraising efforts, including corporate sponsors Triple R Child Care, Old Plank Trail Bank, Standard Bank & Trust and Physicians Immediate Care. The Foundation Coin Drive and Golf Outing were very successful. This year the Foundation was able to fund fifteen grants totaling over $83,000 to the schools, including technology and reading program materials.
Along with its generous past supporters, the Foundation is extending a special welcome to those new to the district or who have not yet had an opportunity to attend the fundraiser. Silent auction donations are needed, including unused gift cards, event tickets, technology or services.
