157-C Hosts Lincoln-Way Presentation on Changes in Illinois Education
TONIGHT, October 22: Learn how these changes will affect high school and elementary students

All District 157-C parents are invited to attend an informational session on October 22, from 7:00 – 7:45 p.m., in the Cafetorium at Hickory Creek Middle School, 22150 W. 116th Avenue in Frankfort.
The presentation will be “Lincoln-Way and the Changes in Illinois Education: What Every Parent Needs to Know.” Special guests will be Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Superintendent, Dr. Scott Tingley, and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Mr. Tim Reilly.
They will discuss both the immediate changes for students in grades 6-12, and the projected changes that will impact students in elementary grades as well. Similar presentations will be given for parents at all of the grade school districts that send students to Lincoln-Way High Schools.

Dr. Tingley and Mr. Reilly will share several key decisions that impact the future of education on the high school level, and that ultimately will impact schools at all levels. District 210 leaders will stay for individual questions after their presentation.
Topics will include:
• Changes in state funding, and legislation that impacts area schools.
• The new state assessment systems (PARCC testing.)
• College and Career Readiness for Math and Language Arts.
• Lincoln-Way’s plan for addressing the Common Core and State Educational Shifts.
