Why are you seeking office?
I am seeking office with the Frankfort Park District for several reasons. First I want to give back to this great community I reside in. Part of the great appeal to raise a family in Frankfort is because of their wonderful programs offered through their Park District. I feel fortunate to be able to reside in a wonderful area with the great parks and trails. When I became aware that there was an opening on the board, I felt this would be a great fit for me and for the park district.
What sets you apart from the other candidates?
I am mother of two younger children that are involved in many of the park district's programs and special events. I am actively engaged in these programs and events with them. I also enjoy the parks and trails with my family and want to ensure the best for my family and the folks of Frankfort. I have a great knowledge of quality improvement and leadership skills within my current work at a large non-for-profit agency that I can utilized as a board member.
If elected, what changes would you work toward within the park district?
I would work to ensure the people of community voices are heard. If there are issues brought to my attention, I would defnitely lift them to the board's attention to be heard and addressed as well as feedback given to the concerned people wanting change. I believe communication is key when addressing issues and concerns as well as the right for the folks of Frankfor to know.
What are the strengths of this park district?
Frankfort Park District strives to meet the needs of the residents and are always working towards excellence. They has several parks to enjoy which are beautiful and well maintained. The park district offers several programs for a different age groups from toddlers to seniors that many residents are actively involved in.
What areas of the district are most in need of improvement?
There is always room for improvement. I am sure there are many folks that feel there can be changes made to make the park district better though, I am unaware of any needed improvement. When matters do come to my attention, I will definitely advocate in the best interest of the residents to ensure the improvement is made or provide communication explaining why their request cannot be met.
