Why are you seeking office?
Over the last six years, my involvement with Operation Playground, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving Frankfort parks, has given me the opportunity to work closely with our park district team. I believe that experience, my vision, and work ethic will serve the district well as we develop more programs and enhancements to our parks to better serve Frankfort residents.
What sets you apart from the other candidates?
As a volunteer with Operation Playground, I was instrumental in the development of the Bark Park addition to Commissioners’ Park. My fundraising, organizational and publicity efforts paid off with an award-winning, nationally recognized park for community dog owners. I’m willing to roll up my sleeves and work.
If elected, what changes would you work toward within the park district?
I’m not sure what if anything needs to be changed at this time, but if elected, I will learn more about how the park district works and will be open to ideas for improvement or changes.
What are the strengths of this park district?
The Frankfort Park District has a dedicated staff that is able to develop a broad range of family-friendly programs for the community that delivers maximum value. The Frankfort Park District has 20+ parks located throughout the community which maximizes the opportunity for all residents to be able to enjoy our parks.
What areas of the district are most in need of improvement?
It is our generation’s duty to maintain and develop our park system to assure the parks provide enjoyment and recreation for future generations. Strong recreation programs, year-round activities, and the addition of landscaping, trees and better facilities will have strong, long-term benefits.
Please add any other information pertinent to your campaign.
Frankfort is a beautiful community and it will be an honor to serve as a park commissioner.
