Amazon Hosts Will County Sheriff K-9 Team for Tour & Donation

Amazon Welcomes the Will County Sheriff's Office and K-9-Unit Dogs to its Monee Fulfillment Center.

On April 24, Amazon welcomed the Will County Sheriff’s Office and five lucky K-9-unit dogs to its Monee fulfillment center for a donation and special tour of the facility.

Amazon General Manager Jeff Messenger and associates presented Will County Sergeant Jeff Pogose with special kits to help train and entertain the dogs, complete with KONG toys, bowls, and chicken jerky treats.

“We’re proud to be a part of the Monee community with great neighbors like the Sheriff’s Office,” said General Manager Jeff Messenger. “Our donation to the Will County K-9 unit will support the important work they do to keep our community safe, as well as aid in on-going K-9 training.”

Following the donation, the sheriff’s office received a behind-the-scenes tour of the Monee fulfillment center to see how Amazon associates pick, pack, and ship items “from A to Z” to deliver smiles to customers. This fulfillment center is one of approximately 20 in North America offering public tours Monday through Friday; reservations are available at www.amazon.com/fctours.

The more than 850,000 square foot fulfillment center in Monee opened in August 2017 and has more than 2,000 full-time, full-benefit employees who pick, pack and ship smaller customer items such as books, electronics, and toys. The facility features innovative technology that assists employees in fulfilling customer orders.
