New Deputy Chief Sworn In For Frankfort Police Department

FRANKFORT, IL — New deputy police chief Michael Jaicomo was sworn in at Monday's Frankfort Village Board meeting. Officer Matt Skanberg was also promoted to the rank of sergeant.

"This is always one of the best parts of doing this, is swearing-in new officers or promotions for existing officers," Mayor Keith Ogle said.

Mayor Keith Ogle said Jaicomo grew up in Essex, and graduated from Reed-Custer High School. He previously worked for the Will County Sheriff's Office as a correctional officer, before joining the Frankfort Police Department in 2005.

"During his time with the Frankfort Police Department, Mike has served in various roles having been appointed detective in 2011 and later promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2017," Ogle said.

He has most recently served as the special operations sergeant at the department.

"I've learned that I think what makes this community what it is, and keeps it what we strive for it to be, are the fantastic men and women that come to work each and every day and make this community their careers," Jaicomo said.

Matt Skanberg was also promoted to the rank of sergeant during Monday's meeting. Ogle said Skanberg grew up in Tinley Park, and joined the Frankfort Police Department in 2003. He has served as field training officer, officer in charge, neighborhood patrol officer and investigations.
