New Restaurant Plans Move Forward In Frankfort

The new restaurant would open in the Brookside Commons Office Centre off of Lincoln Highway.

FRANKFORT, IL — At its Monday meeting, the Frankfort Village Board approved some agenda items for a new restaurant, Coro Restaurant, at 10211 W. Lincoln Highway.

The Board approved a major change to a planned unit development and a special use permit for a full-service restaurant with liquor sales. The board denied a special use for outdoor seating and a special use for a drive-up service window.

Trustee Gene Savaria said Coro Restaurant will operate at the former location of Simply Smokin.

According to Board documents, the applicant requested the major planned unit development change to allow for interior and exterior improvements at the building.

The plan commission recommended approval of the major PUD change, and the special use permit for liquor sales. It did not recommend approving a special use for outdoor seating or for the drive-up service window.

The plan commission cited limited parking availability for denial of the outdoor seating, and traffic congestion for the denial of the drive-up service window.

Board documents state menus would include breakfast items, as well as a drink menu with beer, wine, cocktails and whiskey. Lunch and dinner menu items include pasta, grilled salmon, steak, pork chops, pizza, soups, wings and more.
