• Mom Murder Suspect 'Invested' in Lindsay Clancy Case Told Cops She Wanted to Harm Children, Husband: Docs (people.com) — Frankfort police say 2-year-old Barrett Walsh was found hanging in the basement of his family's home on Sept. 1, and his mother Corie has been charged with murder. Court documents describe her apparent mental health crisis, alleged statements about harming family members, and an upcoming Sept. 24 court date, while three other children in the Frankfort house were unharmed.
   

• 'Racist Behavior Must Have Meaningful Consequences': IL Teacher Groups On Incident At LWE, H-F Football Game (patch.com) — Frankfort officials and local education groups are condemning racist harassment directed at Homewood-Flossmoor students during a Sept. 4 football game at Lincoln-Way East, and are calling for meaningful consequences and anti-racism work. Statements from the Village of Frankfort, statewide teacher unions, and the NAACP emphasize accountability, student safety, and stronger efforts to confront racism in schools and at athletic events.
