FRANKFORT, IL — For the second time in just over a month, The Chill House in Frankfort was burglarized, according to police.
The Will County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called at 5:06 a.m. Monday for a report of a burglary in progress in the 7900 block of West Lincoln Highway.
Police said surveillance cameras showed three people wearing black clothing and face masks, armed with sledgehammers. The offenders broke glass to get in the business, and stole cash drawers from several gaming machines.
The offenders took off in a vehicle, the sheriff's office said. There is no description of that vehicle, and no one is in custody.
The Chill House was also burglarized last month in a similar crime.
The sheriff's office said it was part of a task force meeting with other departments to discuss these crimes. The sheriff's office continues to be proactive when it comes to these smash-and-grab burglaries at local establishments targeting gambling machines, police said.
