FRANKFORT, IL — Operation Playground Foundation will host its 10th annual Pours for Parks fundraiser to support Frankfort parks on Oct. 17.
The fundraiser features a variety of craft beer, wine, margaritas and spirits from local and regional businesses, a news release shares.
The event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 17 at the Founders Community Center, 140 Oak St.
Each tasting ticket includes 10 beverage tastings and an appetizer from Fat Rosie's Taco & Tequila Bar. Guests will also receive a commemorative tasting glass while supplies last.
DJ entertainment will be provided, and the event will be held outdoors but there are indoor accommodation if needed, the park district shared.
Tickets for the 21-and-over event are $50 per person for a tasting ticket and $15 for a designated driver ticket. Advance ticket purchases are encouraged to guarantee admission.
Participating businesses include: Trail's Edge Brewing Co., Arrowhead Ales Brewing Co., Brothership Brewing, Hailstorm Brewing Co, Flipside Brewing, Black Horizon Brewing Company, Fat Rosie's Taco & Tequila Bar, Thornton Distilling Co., The Wine Thief Provision & Bistro, Wild Blossom Meadery & Winery, Nouvie, Dancing Marlin, Social 45 Craft Kitchen & Bar by: Jimmy O's, Stout Cocktail Co., and PRP Wine International.
"Past attendees have really enjoyed the opportunity to meet and talk with representatives from the various establishments who are on-site pouring the tastings," said Julie Sullivan, Fundraising & Community Outreach Coordinator. "The support of these local and regional businesses is an incredible asset to the Foundation, and it is appreciated by both the Foundation and everyone who attends the event."
Proceeds from this year's event will be invested in facilities within the Frankfort Park District, a news release shared.
"We hope there is enough space for everyone who wants to attend this year," said Gina Hassett, Executive Director of the Frankfort Park District. "Attendance has continued to grow each year, and the variety of beverage offerings has helped make Pours for Parks an event that people look forward to."
Over the past 10 years, Hassett said the event has raised more than $98,000 invested in Frankfort parks.
"It has become a fun way to close out the fall season, and many guests make an evening of it by enjoying Pours for Parks and then heading downtown for dinner. We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our local and regional beverage sponsors and community sponsors," she added.
