ArtWorks Festival Planned March 18 At Lincoln-Way East

The festival, featuring demonstrations, workshops, exhibits and performances, is open to the public.

FRANKFORT, IL — The annual ArtWorks Festival, featuring a day of art for all ages, will be held March 18 at Lincoln-Way East High School.

The event, which includes performances and workshops, will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

According to the school district Facebook, the public is invited to spend the day listening to performances, exhibits and demonstrations, and participating in hands-on art activities. Admission is free.

Workshops include yarn pom poms, mixed media collage, jewelry copper enameling, tie-dyeing landscapes with water color, flower paintings, origami and more.

The Lincoln-Way Youth Strings Orchestra will perform at 11 a.m., the Lincoln-Way Youth Strings Chamber Ensemble will perform at noon and a variety of musical performances will follow at 1 p.m.

A student art exhibit in the cafeteria will feature over 900 pieces of artwork from students in kindergarten through high school, according to the school district.

Professional artists John Tylk and Ted Fuka will also be at the event to give demonstrations.
