Back To School: Summit Hill D161 2026-27 School Year Calendar

FRANKFORT, IL — As July winds to a close, the first day of school for Summit Hill District 161 students is less than a month away. Students will head back to the classroom on Aug. 20, and the 2026-27 school year will wrap up on May 26, 2027.

If you like to plan ahead, here are some important dates to know for the upcoming school year:

• Aug. 20, first day of school
• Sept. 7, Labor Day, no school
• Oct. 9, half-day of school
• Oct. 12, Columbus Day, no school
• Oct. 30, half-day of school
• Nov. 3, No school at Mary Drew Early Learning Center
• Nov. 20, half-day of school
• Nov. 23-24, parent-teacher conferences, no school
• Nov. 25-27, Thanksgiving holiday, no school
• Dec. 18, half-day of school
• Dec. 21-Jan. 1, holiday break, no school
