Beloved Frankfort Resident, Hairstylist Michael Matela, 22

Friends and family are mourning the loss of 22-year-old Michael S. Matela.

A Frankfort resident, Matela also formerly lived in Crete. He was a graduate of Lincoln-Way East High School and St. Liborius Grammar School. He found his career passion as a hairstylist at Plush Salon in Mokena.

He is the son of Paula and Nicholas S. Matela, brother to Matthew and Nicholas, and devoted partner of Daniel DeSantis. Grandson of the late Carmina nee DeProsperis and Armando Popolla, Joanne and Leonard Matela.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 16 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Panozzo Bros Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th Street, in Chicago Heights.
