FREE Ice Cream Social in Frankfort Returns August 23

Summer wouldn't be complete without ice cream, music and a little friendly competition and the Frankfort Area Historical Society and Frankfort Preservation Foundation are bringing all three together for the annual Ice Cream Social.

The community is invited to join the festivities on Sunday, August 23, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Founders Center, 140 Oak Street. The event is free and will feature complimentary ice cream and games for children.

Live music will be provided by the Frankfort Brass Band, adding to the nostalgic, old-fashioned summer atmosphere. Guests can also cheer on competitors during the popular Pielympics pie-eating contest, which features three age divisions. There is no entry fee, and prizes will be awarded to the winners.

Adding to the fun, members of the Frankfort Fire and Police Departments will serve as the event's official ice cream scoopers.

The Ice Cream Social offers an opportunity for families, friends and neighbors to gather, enjoy a sweet treat and celebrate the community together.

The event takes place Sunday, August 23, from 4–6 p.m. at the Founders Center. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
