Charlotte's Web at LWE this week; tickets for this family friendly play are only $5

Lincoln-Way East Theater Company will present the classic story of Charlotte’s Web on Thursday, October 22 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, October 24 at 2 p.m. at the school’s Fine Arts Center.

Join us to enjoy the timeless classic tale of friendship, loyalty, and unexpected heroism. Perfect for all ages!

It’s the story of a pig named Wilbur and his friendship with a barn spider named Charlotte. When Wilbur is in danger of being slaughtered by the farmer, Charlotte writes messages praising Wilbur in her web in order to persuade the farmer to let him live. Tickets $5 at the door; Showtimes are 7pm Thursday, Oct 22nd and 2pm Saturday Oct 24th

“I am so proud of our students for the time and energy they have invested over the past five weeks to put together a great production of Charlotte’s Web for our community,” said Elizabeth Swaney, the show’s director.

The cast includes 15 students as well as 15 crew members, most of whom will play extra roles during the performance.

Based on the book by E.B. White and the production adapted by Joseph Robinette, Charlotte’s Web appeals to all ages.

The production tells the story of a runt pig named Wilbur, a young girl named Fern who is attempting to save Wilbur from the butcher and an extraordinary spider named Charlotte who helps Fern and the farm animals develop a plot to save Wilbur.
