Chelsea Intermediate School "Jump Rope for Heart"

Program starts week of February 8

Chelsea third through fifth grade students will participate in their annual “Jump Rope for Heart” event the second week of February at the school at 22265 S. 80th Avenue in Frankfort. The event benefits the American Heart Association. Students will be jumping for their own healthy hearts and to help save the lives of others as the donations collected fund research and training to fight heart disease.

The students are off to a good start with collection donations. Ninety-nine students earned their “Top Dog” award when they collected $150 or more on their personal websites by the kick-off date.
Chelsea was awarded the 2015 Jump Rope for Heart “School of the Year.” Out of 33,000 schools participating in 2015, Chelsea was #4 in the nation and #1 in the eleven state Midwest Affiliate for donations collected.

This annual event teaches students about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and also demonstrates to the children that they can be empowered to provide vital community service and make a difference. At the same time, students enjoy getting into the spirit of these fun-filled events.
