CD & ME Concert Raises Funds For Family Of Crash Victim

The victim of a fatal crash in Chicago was the daughter of a longtime employee of CD & ME in Frankfort.

FRANKFORT, IL - A concert at CD & ME in Frankfort Thursday night helped raise money for the family of Alejandra "Aly" Damian, the 21-year-old woman killed in when a car struck a pole in Chicago's River North neighborhood Monday night. Damian is the daughter of an employee at CD & ME, an owner of the venue said.

"Words cannot express the sadness that the CD and ME/JaBaay's Outdoor Creations Family is feeling, but hoping that tonight we can make a difference by raising money for the family during our Hairbangers Ball concert," CD & ME wrote on its business' Facebook page Thursday morning. The money was raised at the Hairbanger's Ball concert. The band is a Chicago 80s cover band, according to a Facebook event listing.

Damian was the victim of a fatal car crash in which a car split in half and exploded on Ontario Street in Chicago. The driver of the vehicle was found dead later that night in a suspected suicide.

An effort to raise money for Damian's family has already surpassed a $20,000 goal on GoFundMe. Friends have praised her as someone who has "a big heart" and "a wonderful person."

CD & ME is a venue at 23320 S. LaGrange Road in Frankort that specializes in hosting weddings and entertainment events, according to its website.
