Construction season is upon us, which means the possible return of the three Ds: delays, detours and disturbances.

No one enjoys maneuvering through construction zones, but it's a necessary evil (especially the long overdue Rt. 30 widening). To help ease some of that frustration, Patch will post updates from the village this summer about what roadways and routes to avoid. You also can check the Village of Frankfort's website for more information. And don't forget to look at Patch's live traffic map when it comes to finding headache-free routes during your commute.

This week's report is similar to last week's with only two updates regarding project start and completion dates.

Rt. 30 Construction: Wolf Road to Route 45

UPDATE! Temporary lanes: Crews continue to pour pavement for temporary lanes on the north side of Rt. 30, near Elsner Road to Butternut Trail. Lane changeovers are scheduled to begin the week of June 4.

UPDATE! Locust Street intersection: This is closed as work continues. Base pavement for the roadway should be poured soon, and storm drain work has been completed. Work was originally scheduled to end May 18. But the new date is Friday, May 25. The delays were caused by design changes to the curb and gutter near Meadow Avenue, Piscia said in an e-mail. The final surfacing for the intersection will be done at the same time as the surfacing for the Elm Street and Hackberry Road intersections, he added.

Wolf Road intersection: Utility relocation should be finished, and the area should be ready for sound wall installation.

Elm Street intersection: Work will resume when Locust Street reopens, closing the intersection.

Rt. 30 Construction: Route 45 to Harlem Avenue

Paving: Pouring from the to the began Monday, May 14.

Frankfort Square Road intersection: This is closed while work continues. Once the base pavement is in place, the intersection will reopen until final surface is ready to be applied.

82nd Avenue intersection: This will close when the Frankfort Square intersection reopens.
