D157-C's Frankfort Kindness Project set for Feb. 9-15
School District encourages spread of positivity throughout Frankfort community

FRANKFORT, IL — Frankfort School District 157-C students are encouraging the spread of positivity and kindness throughout the community through the Frankfort Kindness Project.
During the week of February 9-15, Frankfort residents and visitors can stop by one of 30 Frankfort businesses to receive a handmade sticker with a positive message. Students at all three District 157-C schools created the stickers, which share kind and friendly messages for recipients.
The Hickory Creek Middle School PozSquad spearheaded the initiative. The club, which is sponsored by teachers Michelle Matz and Cristina Vallejo, is in its first year. Its mission is to spread kindness through small interactions that create a ripple effect throughout the school, District, Frankfort community, and world.

Matz explained that a small act or word of kindness shared with one person can inspire the recipient to be kind to others, multiplying the amount of positivity and compassion in the world.
At the Monday, February 3 meeting of the Village of Frankfort Board of Trustees, the Board proclaimed the week of February 9-15 Kindness Week in the village. Representatives from the PozSquad were in attendance to discuss the Frankfort Kindness Project and receive a framed copy of the proclamation.
