District 157-C Will Make Switch To In-Person Learning
Starting the week of Oct. 5, the district will transition to full in-person every day.
FRANKFORT, IL — After several weeks of full remote learning, District 157-C in Frankfort will begin to move to in-person learning the week of Sept. 21. On the district website, the district said it has addressed guidelines and requirements and notes that positivity rates and cases have been on the decline.
For the week of Sept. 21 and Sept. 28, there will be three days of in-person learning on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with various grade levels attending each day. Then, starting the week of Oct. 5, the district will transition to full in-person every day.
Families can still choose a full remote learning option, and will have a newly assigned remote teacher starting Oct. 5.

The district said its task force researched a number of models for learning, including hybrid learning.
"This model may work well in schools where overcrowding already exists," the district said. "We do not have this problem with our large school buildings, large outdoor areas and manageable numbers of students in our buildings."
