District 157C School Calendar 2019-20: First Day, Breaks

FRANKFORT, IL — District 157C students will soon head back to school for the 2019-20 school year. District 157C has released its school calendar for the year, which is full of important dates to remember for both parents and students.

The calendar includes dates like winter and spring break, holidays, conferences and half days. Here is the list of days you should know for this school year:

August

• Aug. 21 - First day of school
• Aug. 30 - Teacher Institute, no school

September

• Sept. 2 - Labor Day, no school

October

• Oct. 11 - Teacher Institute, no school
• Oct. 14 - Columbus Day, no school
• Oct. 31 - School improvement day, early dismissal

November

• Nov. 25-26 - Parent teacher conferences, no school
• Nov. 27, 28, 29 - Thanksgiving holiday, no school

December

• Dec. 20 - Early release by one hour, winter break begins

January

• Jan. 6 - Teacher Institute, no school
• Jan. 7 - Classes resume from winter break
• Jan. 20 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school

February

• Feb. 14 - School improvement day, early dismissal
• Feb. 17 - President's Day, no school

March

• March 27 - Spring break begins at end of day

April

• April 6 - Classes resume from spring break
• April 10 - No school

May

• May 25 - Memorial Day, no school
• May 29 - School improvement day, early dismissal AND tentative last day of school
