Effort Begins To Help Frankfort Woman With Breast Cancer

Billie Wallace beat cancer more than two decades ago and will have to do it again.

FRANKFORT, IL -- A Frankfort woman who survived cancer once is in the difficult position of having to do it again.

Billie Wallace was diagnosed with Leukemia when she was seven years old in 1990 and, after a number of setbacks, was able to survive because her twin sister, Bobbie had matching bone marrow.

But this year, Billie was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer on May 1.

As of Wednesday night, the fundraising effort has brought in $4,135 out of a $30,000 goal.

"I beat cancer, and now 26 years later I have to do it all over again," she wrote, describing the close relationship she and her sister have shared during the time since her first diagnosis more than a quarter-century ago.

"Once I was done with chemo, my hair started to grow back. My sister even cut her hair to match mine so we could look like twins again
