Frankfort Arts Association’s Fall Event Line Up

Frankfort Arts Association is celebrating the 2019 Fall Season with a walking art exhibit in the Frankfort Fall Fest parade, September 1, 2019 @ 1pm. Be on the lookout for Van Gogh, Mona Lisa, Frida Kahlo, The Girl with a Pearl Earring, and Georgia O’Keefe. The FAAs participation in the parade will promote new and renewable memberships as well as participation in fall events. Kristin Murphy, FAA Vice President said, “Being part of this event is just the start of an exciting fall journey. We have so much talent to share and promote.”

This Fall’s lineup includes a Pop-up Gallery and the 1st Annual Art and Ales Fundraiser Event. The FAAs Pop-Up gallery will be in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce Wine and Ale Walk, September 29th, from 3-7pm. at the Trolley Barn. Art will be exhibited for those who apply to participate.

The FAAs first fundraiser is scheduled to take place Friday, October 11, 2019, from 6-10pm, at Arrowhead Ales Brewing Company, in New Lenox. Tickets will be available online for $50 (https://www.frankfortartsassociation.org/event-info/art-and-ales), and will include hors d’ oeuvres and one beverage, live music, interactive art, raffles, and silent auction pieces from over thirty local artists. “I’m very excited for what we have in store this year. I know that each year is going to bring something fresh and exciting to our community. Arrowhead has been abundantly generous helping us make this event a reality.” Lisa Podlesak, FAA President.

The Frankfort Arts Association is a newly formed Non-Profit 501(c)(3), impacting the community in a variety of fun and inclusive ways.

Frankfort Arts Association is dedicated to enhancing the community through creation, education, promotion, and appreciation of the arts. Artists need a space to dream, to create, to inspire and to be inspired. They are working to provide a creative place within our community where we can easily gather together for enrichment, exploration, and inspiration. Through fundraising efforts, their goals are as follows:

• Physical space for FAA member activity

• Collaborate with Village of Frankfort

• Gallery exhibits

• Continued classroom for art classes, workshops, and lectures

• Shared spaces for artists to rent

• Collaborate with local businesses to promote the Arts through sponsored events and Pop Up Galleries.

• Sponsor the Creative Arts Showcase in honor of Children’s Art Month

• Beautification of the community through public works projects. In 2018, FAA members picked up retired newspaper boxes from The Chicago Tribune. Artists painted the outsides and installed them in parks as free little libraries.
