Final Stages Of Fort Frankfort Playground Renovations Starting This Spring
The project was originally planned to be finished last fall, but has taken longer than anticipated.
FRANKFORT, IL — The Fort Frankfort playground renovation is in its final stages, with a few more elements finishing up this spring, the Frankfort Park District shared on its website.
The project was originally planned to be finished last fall, but has taken longer than anticipated.
"The large Fort Frankfort playground is a custom-designed structure, and several specialized components required off-site manufacturing. These production timelines extended into the fall construction season and resulted in delays beyond our initial projected completion," the park district said.

The rubber surfacing of the playground was installed last fall, and now several more final elements will be finished when weather allows, according to the park district. The 2 to 5-year-old playground area, the entrance plaza and arch, and final landscaping will all be finished this spring.
"We appreciate the community’s patience as we complete this significant investment in one of our most beloved parks," the park district said. "We are confident the finished project will provide an enhanced and memorable experience for families for years to come."
