Former Frankfort Village Manager, Plan Commissioner Dies

Services for Paula Wallrich will be held on Sunday at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, in Frankfort.

FRANKFORT, IL — Paula Wallrich, 68, a previous Frankfort Village Manager and a member of the plan commission, died on Monday.

According to her obituary, Wallrich "dedicated her life to serving her community, working for decades as a Village Planner, Community Development Director, and Village Manager in Frankfort, Homer Glen, Homewood, and Tinley Park. Her villages became a shining example of good design for the surrounding towns."

She had most recently served on the Village's plan commission, which reviews all planning-related issues for the Village.

“Paula Wallrich, a former Village of Frankfort employee and Plan Commission member, made many contributions to our village which have undoubtedly enriched the lives of many residents," Mayor Keith Ogle told Patch. "Her ability to balance preserving the village's historical charm while embracing innovation through strategies and developments is a testament to her keen eye for quality while being sensitivity to the unique character of our community. Her 14-year career was marked by devotion and passion, contributed immensely to the development and growth of the village during a crucial period. Her work has left a permanent mark on Frankfort, and her legacy will certainly continue to shape the fabric of the community for years to come."

Ogle said the entire Village Board and community expresses heartfelt condolences to Wallrich's family.

"May her memory be a source of comfort and strength, and may her dedication and passion inspire others to follow in her footsteps in the field of Community Development," Ogle said.

Services for Paula will be held on Sunday at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, in Frankfort, with a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 1 p.m.

Paula is survived by her loving husband Clay Hosh; children, Cambria (Michael Giovenco) Wallrich, and Amelia Wallrich; cherished grandson Owen Giovenco; siblings, Gail (John) Sturm and Michael (Paula Jean) Wallrich; and her beloved nieces and nephews, Leslie Darcy, Lauren Sturm, Lindsey Gabrione, Matthew Wallrich, William Wallrich, and Khyle Hosh, according to her obituary. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Chris Nunns, and parents Francis and Delores (nee Gray) Wallrich.
