Former Village of Frankfort Trustee Todd Morgan shocked by news of Jerry Ducay’s departure

When former Village Trustee Todd Morgan heard the news that Village of Frankfort Administrator Jerry Ducay resigned to take a new position, he said he almost couldn't believe it. Morgan stated, “Over the 14 years that I served on the Village Board and worked with Jerry, I never met anyone more competent and dedicated to the best interests of Frankfort at all times. In my opinion during those same formative years in the Village history no one had a greater impact on Frankfort’s development and status in the region than Jerry Ducay.”
Morgan said that Ducay is a master at his craft. He continued, “Jerry brought that amazing skill level to the Board every day to help us navigate many tough decision and directions. I can honestly say that without his personnel contribution, Frankfort would not be the town it is and we all owe him the highest level of gratitude as residents.”
During the years Morgan worked with Ducay, he consistently praised him for his execution and vision in helping the Board achieve the goals set forth for the community. Morgan stated, “Jerry Ducay’s leadership was the most significant reason that Frankfort looks and feels the way it does. Jerry leaving is like losing your starting quarterback or in baseball your best hitter.” He believes all Board members feel they make contributions, however, Morgan says that what Frankfort residents see around them was driven 90 percent by Jerry’s guidance.”
As a resident, Morgan expresses his thanks to Ducay. He continued, “Talented people are hard to find, retain, and replace. The Village has many talented individuals but replacing Jerry’s depth of knowledge, experience and his relationships will be hard to match. In my opinion, Jerry Ducay’s decision to depart Frankfort is a real blow to our community and I hope the Village can lean on all of its talented employees to help us navigate this transition. As for the community or the organization he plans to join, congratulations, you’ve got one of the best there is. Though his leaving is a disappointment to me as a resident I know that I will always maintain my friendship and appreciation for what he has done for Frankfort. I wish him all the best in the future.”
