Frankfort Amateur Rib Cook-Off Is Saturday
Sixteen amateur chefs will compete for prizes at Breidert Green this Saturday.

FRANKFORT, IL -- Rib lovers will gather in Frankfort this weekend for the "Frankfort Amateur Rib Cook-Off," which will award four prizes including a "Crowd Pleaser."
Sixteen contestants will cook on-site at Breidert Green Park in downtown Frankfort on Saturday, Aug. 5. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in addition to the crowd pleaser award.
Admission to the cook-off is free, but tasting tickets must be purchased to try the food. Four tickets go for $5, eight for $10 and 12 for $15, according to a flyer promoting the event.

All food purchases will benefit the Frankfort Area JayCees, which beverage purchases will benefit the Frankfort Lions Club.
Public tasting starts at 12:30 p.m. Awards will be announced at 2 p.m.
