FRANKFORT, IL — Winners of the village of Frankfort's eighth annual "amateur Rib Cook-Off" have been announced after organizers called the Saturday festival at Breidert Green Park a successful event that drew more than 600 guests.
Winners of the 2017 contest, which had 16 participants, were Blowin’ Smoke from Mokena (First Place), Smoke Wind & Fire from Frankfort (Second Place) and Bad Axe BBQ from Palos Heights (Third Place). The "crowd pleaser" award went to South Side Pit Men from Oak Forest.
