Frankfort Appoints New Utilities Director
Zachary Brown was appointed to the position of Utilities Director for the village of Frankfort.

FRANKFORT, IL — At its July 20 meeting, Zachary Brown was appointed to the position of Utilities Director for the village of Frankfort, effective immediately. According to a release from the village, Brown most recently served as the assistant director of development services and has worked for the village for over 15 years.
Mike Stone, the former director, has taken a position in the private sector, the village said in a release.
According to a release, the village advertised the open position and a number of qualified people applied. After interviewing candidates, the trustees and Mayor James Holland selected Brown.

Brown holds a Bachelor's degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. According to the village, he has worked in community development, planning, building and in the utilities department as assistant director for three years. Brown is currently completing his thesis to earn a Master’s of Public Administration from Governors State University, and holds a Class B Water Supply Operator license.
“We are pleased to select an internal candidate for this very important position that manages Frankfort’s water and sewer systems. Mr. Brown knows our employees and he will be able to immediately work with them to improve services for our residents," Holland said in a release.

Brown and his wife, Melissa, live in Frankfort and have two children and are expecting their third child in January.
