Frankfort Approves Indoor Circus Training Facility

The center will provide group classes and individual training in a variety of circus acts including hula hoops, juggling, and aerial skills.

FRANKFORT, IL — The village board approved a special use permit for the Frankfort Circus Center at its May 6 meeting. The business will be located at 700 Center Road.

The Frankfort Circus Center will be an indoor circus training facility, trustee John Clavio said at the meeting. The center will provide group classes and individual training in a variety of circus acts including hula hoops, juggling, unicycling and aerial skills.

"A circus training facility, what could be more fun than that in Frankfort," Mayor Jim Holland said.

Thomas Smith, the owner of the proposed facility, requested the special use permit for indoor recreation and entertainment. At the Frankfort plan commission meeting on April 25, commissioners unanimously recommended the project.

The board unanimously approved the special use permit.
