FRANKFORT, IL — After a committee of the whole meeting May 28, the village board approved closing Kansas Street in downtown Frankfort to allow restaurants to expand outdoor seating. The street will be closed between Ash and Oak streets.

Village manager Rob Piscia told Patch the closure will be in effect for as long as the village is in phase 3 of the Restore Illinois plan.

"Approvals are subject to change and modification without notice if we determine it is in the best interest of the community," Piscia said.
