Frankfort Community Helps Fill Trucks For Currie Ford's Food Drive

FRANKFORT, IL — There is still one more full day of Currie Ford of Frankfort's food drive, the business shared in a news release.

Throughout September, the business has been collecting non-perishable food items as part of the Ford Building Together Global Food Drive, with donations supporting Together We Cope.

The dealership said it hoped that the community would support to fill one truck by the end of the month. Instead, Currie Ford has collected enough food to fill three trucks, thanks to local businesses and residents answering the call for donations.

“We started with a goal of filling one truck, and seeing our community, local businesses and businesses from surrounding areas help us turn that into three has been incredible,” said a representative from the dealership. “This community has always been there to support us, so it means a lot to have the opportunity to give that support back and help others in our community. We’re incredibly grateful to every resident, business and supporter who helped make this possible.”

The food drive will continue through Wednesday, so residents have one more day to donate. Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at Currie Ford of Frankfort, 9423 W. Lincoln Highway.

“This isn’t really about how many trucks we fill,” the dealership representative said. “It’s about neighbors helping neighbors. Our community has supported us for years, and being able to come together with residents and businesses from Frankfort and the surrounding areas to give back to people in need is what this is really about. Every donation matters.”
