Frankfort Coronavirus Cases Increased By 6 Over Past Week

FRANKFORT, IL — The number of Frankfort's coronavirus cases only increased by six cases over the past week, according to data from the Will County Health Department. Frankfort (ZIP code 60423) has 155 cases as of June 24, compared to 149 cases on June 17, which represents a 4 percent increase.

IDPH is also reporting a total of 2,300 tests have been performed for ZIP code 60423.

In nearby towns in the Lincoln-Way area, both Mokena (ZIP code 60448) and New Lenox (ZIP code 60451) have fewer cases, with 147and 140 cases, respectively, as of June 24. Manhattan (ZIP code 60442) has 50 cases, according to data from the county health department.

Many restaurants in Frankfort have now opened outdoor seating and dining since the state moved to phase 3 of the Restore Illinois plan at the end of May.

As of Wednesday, Illinois' coronavirus case count was 138,540 and the coronavirus has claimed the lives of 6,770 Illinois residents. Health authorities do not provide the number of deaths by municipality. In Will County, there are 6,480 cases of the coronavirus and 315 related deaths.
